Winter is almost over and the first active amphibians are the most beautiful sign of upcoming spring I can imagine. I was lucky to observe some Common Frogs ( Rana temporaria) and a Fire Salamander (Salamandra s. terrestris) during a night walk. The pretty frogs are remarkably well camouflaged in the foliage.
